HOW DO I GET MY FURNITURE READY FOR COLLECTION?

• Please make sure the items are easy to reach and clear of any belongings.• Give each item a quick clean or wipe down before taking your photos. Furniture always looks its best in pictures when it's clean, which helps it sell.• Let us know at booking if anything is upstairs or in a flat, so the team arrives prepared.• Give any upholstered items a quick check for their fire-safety label (the small tag usually found under cushions or on the frame). By law we can only take upholstered furniture that still has this label attached.• If your plans change, you can rearrange or cancel your collection up until 12pm (midday) the day before. After that, the collection is locked in and can't be changed.

HOW MUCH DOES A COLLECTION COST?

Nothing at all. Collection is completely free.

WHEN WILL YOU COLLECT?

Accepted Answer

When you book, please choose a day you're able to be available all day. Boxmove will then text you your timeslot the day before. This timeslot is fixed and can't be changed, so do make sure the day you pick works for you.

WHAT HAPPENS ON COLLECTION DAY?

Accepted Answer

You'll receive a link so you can track the van in real time and see your drivers' names and photos before they arrive. The Boxmove team will always be uniformed and carrying ID badges, so you'll know exactly who's at your door.

Yes, but please tell us at booking so the team can plan for it.

WHY DO YOU NEED PHOTOS?

Accepted Answer

Photos let us check your furniture is suitable and sellable before we travel out, which saves everyone a wasted trip. Bookings can't be completed without them.

WHAT IF MY ITEM IS WORTH LESS THAN £200?

Accepted Answer

We're really grateful for the offer, but items likely to sell for under £200 cost more to collect and sell than they raise, so we're unable to accept them.

WHAT FURNITURE CAN'T BE DONATED?

As a general guide we can't take beds or mattresses, flat-pack or MDF furniture, items that are damaged, heavily worn or that smell of smoke, or upholstered items with no fire-safety label. If in doubt, add a photo when you book and we'll take a look.

CAN I DONATE OTHER GOODS LIKE CLOTHES, HOMEWARE AND BRIC-A-BRAC AT THE SAME TIME?

Our furniture partner Boxmove can only collect the item/s of furniture that you list in your enquiry. You can book a collection for all items that are not furniture on our Donate Goods page or by calling head office.
